There are good stories, but it is heavily money based. They do allow you to accumulate coins by watching ads, which is nice. HOWEVER, the most recent update of the ads makes the ads longer! Takes me 30 minutes to watch 30 ads!?!? It was 10-15 minutes for 30 ads yesterday! Not only that, when the ads are done, I have a hard time closing them. I also get a 10-15 second "please download" ad (2nd ad popup after initial 30+ second ad). These ads are insanely long. Not worth watching for 10 coins...
Coins are expensive to buy. Sometimes you can get a good deal though. Add for coins are not really worth it since 1Ch = 300 coins. U will need to watch around 10 adds just to read 1 Ch. Super time consuming. I understand why they do it but super inconvenient unless you have hrs to spend watching add to unlock a whole story. I like the bulk purchase options. There are cheaper apps with comparable content quality. Basically, Its okay. 🤷♀️
You do have to pay, but that should be expected with this type of app. And this app has a wide selection of wait until free series that lets you read nearly the entire comic. Good quality content, pretty large selection, easy to use and find whatever you're looking for. I do wish it had the option to delete purchases, sometimes I'll purchase a couple chapters and then decide it's not for me and its a nuisance having that cluttering my purchased section. Overall a really good reading app!
I really did like this app so fare. a great selection for sure. I like how im able to get coins from playing games. but the options for buying coins seem drastic and even a little expensive. it's either download 5 games and grind them for a hours each to get through a series or pay a steep amount. it would be most pleasing if thate was a add option. like I could watch a add for a chapter or a few adds even. and watch 15 for 5 chapters. idk it could be a hit. add review would go up and people (:
so the App. won't let me update, it says my phone isnt compatible anymore. I have emailed and emailed and emailed the support email and get no response, it's very sad that you don't even try to fix the issue and just let your customers lose money. horrible app. ( used to love it ) and horrible company. if I could rate less than 1 star I would.
there are stories missing whole parts leading to the story becoming completely incoherent, and it's almost impossible to get any help with it. Prices going up; promotion, and refills going down. It's getting worse. It does have some of the novel versions, but I'm on the fence on if it's worth the price or not. It's not. Half the stories are terribly translated in the novels, and the comics can be missing whole sections.
The cost is too high for me to use this app. I understand paying for content but it's hard to know in 3 chapters if it'll be worth paying to finish a story. Most seem like they'd be ~$10 but some are far more expensive. I'd be willing to spend more money if I felt I was getting a better deal. I pay for webtoons because a little goes a long way. The same amount doesn't go very far with tappytoons so I can't justify spending on this app. I hope this is a sign the artists are well compensated.
I got pulled in from an interesting add. Read the trial chapters and enjoyed the setup for the story. Then hit the wall of "pay to read". I wanted to go for the videos since making purchases like that isn't something I can easily do often. But to get so little from watching a video, it would take forever to open up one chapter. I just wanted to enjoy a good story, but that really isn't worth it. It's too bad, but it is what it is. Will be uninstalling.
Good comics, but super expensive to be able to read more than a few chapters at a time. You get points by videos (too much time for too little points) or by downloading other games with a ton of conditions that you have to meet. There are daily free chapters but the series included are limited. Wish the site had a monthly subscription or something that would be more affordable than the current system. I understand supporting the site/ the artists, but there has to be a better solution.
Not many genres though, all the comics have pretty great art, downside is its more expensive- the subscription could have better benefits. For free, you can read one chapter of your comics every 24hrs. Additionally, there's two options to get coins for free, ads being one of them. One chapter is 30 ads, take that as you will. Edit: on second glance, the selection size is pretty decent.
For the most part this is a good comic app. However, I've had problems with my account where I tried logging back in with the same email and it made me create a new account. So now I have two accounts (on same email), and on one I've purchased a lot of episodes for different comics and the other only a few. Now its annoying having to try and switch between the two to get the one I want and trying to use my points on the right account. In other words, it's just really disappointing.
The stories are great, the artwork is good and there are plenty of offers for getting free points. However, I've completed several of these offers spending days and sometimes weeks to get to the required level only to not receive my points once back in Tappytoons. Fix this issue with the points and I can see giving more stars. Until then there isn't much point in me having this app.
The stories are good, yeah, but way too expensive. 300 points per chapter, you have to watch 30 ads to make even a single chapter accessible for free, with no other way to earn them or have them refilled. I'd rather pay a subscription to be able to read as much as i want than be constantly buying points. Personally, this keeps me from being truly invested in the app.
Not worth the time to download unless you're willing to spend money. The videos for free points is a joke since each chapter is 300 points and one video gives you 10 points each, up to 30 (300 points total). Takes forever to get through them. Free points per video needs to be increased and other methods of getting free points, other than trying apps, needs to be introduced. Risking my device to download apps I'm not interested in isn't worth it.
App has a pretty good selection of comics. My main issue is that there's not a "my purchases" section. If I'm trying to check on series I have been buying chapters for, I have to dig through my history or go deep into menus to see what I spent money on. It'd be nice to have a "purchased series" section with comics that I bought at least one chapter from on the landing page.
I would normally rate it 5 stars, but there's a single flaw that really ruins the app. First of all, it has AMAZING stories, easy to read text and the menus are easy to learn. Its practically perfect....except the buying of points to keep reading. I understand that you need to make money. But making you pay for 3 point per episode only shows people that you want to drain their wallets. (50+ episodes, and each costs 3 points.... that adds up eventually btw). WEBTOONS did it better. Just saying.
The app has many great stories. I just read one and I was immediately roped into the story. But I have to pay to read the entire thing, meaning I have to pay for individual chapters. It's the same for Webnovel and Mangatoon. Webtoons allows you to read chapters for free, of course you can use fastpass to advance but there are drawbacks for that. I recommend Webtoons, if you want to read free chapters without having pay for them individually. You have to wait a week for a new, but well worth it
I read the first few chapters free and enjoyed it. That's when my issue started. In order to keep going I had to buy tokens. Paying and supporting the artist isn't an issue for me but when you calculate the overall cost per chapter it runs roughly $0.28 to $0.37, depending on which token package you get. With that in mind, it's hard to determine cost if the comic isn't complete and you don't know how many total chapters there will be. Wish you could pay a set price for a complete story instead
Up until recently I was reading two "time till free" comics, all of a sudden I cant read one anymore even though the time till free period is up. Wish there had been some sort of notice that I could no longer read it in that manner or that something in the system changed. There also seems to be no way to directly contact Tappytoon (at least that I could easily find) regarding this issue.
This app is a purchase as you go, cool knowing that you have to earn or buy. My issue is the prices! I want to read my series. It takes 303 plus tokens...that's roughly $50? If I'm dropping that much I'd want the physical copy. There are no bundles for buying complete seasons and the free actions require download and play of random games. I'm not cool with downloading random stuff to my phone. I love the story I found and am even willing to pay, but it's just too expensive for online content.
