Although this channel is one of my favorites to view, it unfortunately is the worst app to utilize. After paying for this channel for several years, the technical issues I face daily are insurmountable. It has the recently viewed episodes on a list for you to easily pick up watching a show and not once has it picked up where I left off. It is always at least 10 episodes back and you can never find the spot you left off. What am I paying for??? Can we get a working app???
this app is the only thing I watch but it seems like more and more shows are disappearing. I no longer have access to any History Channel shows, a number of shows are missing seasons, how a show with 9 seasons starts with season 3 and only has 4 seasons available is ridiculous. I thought the point of paying for streaming services like this was to have access to the full catalog of shows. At this rate it's just like the cable company. gotta pay for access to certain channels. I'm ready to cancel.
I have not been able to access the app, nor my account via the website for days. This is not the first time, but it matters more now because I am trying to cancel my subscription. Now I will be charged for something I can not even access. I've tried on multiple devices (phone, tablet, PC) and nothing can get the app it web page to load. Super frustrating.
Content is what you expect from an the app. The app itself hasn't figured out the basics however. Stop watching half way through and want to continue where you left off? Too bad, start from the beginning. Want to fast forward? Can't do that. If it works you will have to rewatch all the adds if you have the cheapest version of the app. But only if it works because more often than not it doesn't, no matter how much you pay. Just jumps you back to the beginning each time.
I'm now being asked to log in every time I want to use the app, both on my phone and my roku devices. It's really, really annoying and sometimes means I watch other streaming services instead. And if I don't use a service, I won't keep it. At the very least, you could make the log in easier with a qr code. But, really, I don't understand why you would log me out of devices that are associated with my home and always have been.
Very buggy, won't even stay open now. "More info" button is visible even when no ad is playing but only sometimes, seasons and episode numbers are constantly messed up. Tilt for full screen can never make up it's mind and freaks out (and it's only this app). Getting to the point where I might as well end my subscription and save some money and read a book. They tend not to be buggy.
This app sucks! My subscription was cancelled because my credit card expired, and by the time that I figured out the proper way to update it, it was too late. Are you trying to drive customers away? It would be helpful if there was a phone # so I could speak to a LIVE person and get the issue resolved expeditiously. Now, I need to figure out how to re-sign up. Lousy customer service!
I have been very disappointed so far with Discovery plus! I signed up for the no ads/commercials and the first show I watched went great. Now every time I try to watch something it gets hung up frequently and makes it frustrating to watch anything with all of the pausing and the little circle going around in my screen. I also subscribe to Prime which works much better with none of the above issues. I also hate that there are no air dates, episodes identified, or any description of the show/episo
I really want to like it more... but, it has some flaws. Obviously, if you're familiar with Discovery+, you know it has a wide selection, which is great. However, my number one issue is that there is no picture-in-picture for Android phones! If you have iPhone, no problem, but not for Android. Pretty odd and super inconvenient. Everytime I end up having to do anything else on my phone, it rarely starts back at the same place I left off, and usually not even the same episode.
Don't get the cheap subscription with commercials!! There's way too many commercial breaks and I'm going to pull my hair out if I see Jake from State Farm or that annoying Kohl's ad with that stupud song about leaving your worries on the doorstep!!!! I arranged for my subscription to end in June then the next day I'm signing up for the commercial free version. I'd rather pay more money than watch the same annoying commercials over and over and over!!! But I do enjoy the app's content.
Frustrating , I've been a customer for over a year and this evening I went on my tablet to watch the channel. According to you my subscription is inactive. The only problem with that is you are continuing to take money out of my acct!!!!! So really it doesn't matter if I watch discovery+ one time a year. If I'm paying for the subscription I shouldn't have to redo anything...
Update: I ended up having to go into my internet browser and sign up as I could not do it through the actual application. Thus far it does have shows I want to watch. I could see between Discovery +, Netflix and Amazon Prime video I could get rid of Disof 2 stars. Trying to sign up and it says once I hit agree and continue that I agree to everything...well there is no button to click that says "Agree and continue " so I am stuck on the sign up page. I have uninstalled and re-installed
Free trial is up and may get rid of it. Watching via this app on my cell is impossible. It's constantly saying there is no internet connection when indeed I'm on WiFi at full strength. Most of the time the shows don't even start and if they do I get the no internet connection complaint. Also, I figured all shows that used to be on TLC, for example, would be featured but that's not true. Lots of shows not even on here.
At 1st everything worked beautifully. Now everything in MyList is gone, there are no options to do anything when you want browse & add shows. There are shows that I specifically watched only on discovery+, & now I can't access anything. It's as if I didn't have an active account, so I uninstalled the app & had tmobile cancel my subscription that I had been paying for but unable to use. I don't know if I should take another chance on you guys when my money for a paid subscription is involved.
I like this app, but I feel like there should be every season of shows that are on discovery. I should be able to go to a specific season of something and watch it. I love 90 day fiance and fixer upper. 90 day fiance only has a channel that shows one episode at a time, you can't even choose an episode. Fixer upper only has 4 episodes total. And there are other shows the same way. It is something that is most likely going to be a deal breaker for me.
I can't even post a review!! Something went wrong. Try again. Delete cache. Uninstall reinstall app after turning off phone. Took the $29.99 for a year offer sent to my computer. Paid for it. Can't use it. What's happening?? Is anyone else having issues? Did what tech support said. Something went wrong. Try again. UGH. What is the most recent updated app version??

Update: My review was made when the app first came out and that's when Chopped was not available on demand...you had to wait for it to "stream". Anyway that's changed now. However I am still not loving that there are no filters. I don't want to see the "Naked and Afraid" series or ones like it pop up. I wish there was a way to filter that stuff out. Other than that the app is great and Discovery Plus has a lot to offer.
Was a good app up until 2 days ago. Can't even access it anymore. It will not open on my phone or TV anymore...just keep sitting there spinning and spinning like it's loading but never opens, same thing on my phone. All other apps work perfectly fine and open right away. Gonna have to cancel 3 memberships as my family members have the same issue for 2 days now...ZERO STARS!!!!
It runs smooth, but It didn't have all the seasons of a show I wanted to see. Some shows only had 1 season, and it might be the first or last you never know what it will be. They should implement the ability to search for the show you want to see so you can make a decision as to what they have and If it's worth your time and money to subscribe. Example :I wanted to watch seasons 2-9 they only have season 5, but I didn't know that until I was subbed Cause you can't get passed the sub window.
When I go to my apps and click on the discovery plus icon it just takes me to the link to down load it even though it says it's already downloaded. Guess I'm just going to remove it and not have discovery plus at all...can't justify paying $5.00 a month to not be able to watch it...thank you very much discovery plus! Tried clearing the cashe...did not help. Just going to have to cancel it all together. Really wish it would work.
